Detroit’s Bloom raises $3.6M to connect hardware startups with suppliers

Detroit hardware-supply-chain startup Bloom has raised a $3.6 million seed round led by SNAK Venture Partners.

Bloom’s October 8, 2026 announcement names Flyover Capital, Detroit Venture Partners and Invest Detroit Ventures among the participants. The company is headquartered at Newlab at Michigan Central.

From supplier search to booking

Bloom connects hardware companies with manufacturing, logistics and after-sales providers. It plans to use the financing to expand business development, grow its BloomPay payments and financing product, and automate more procurement steps with AI agents.

The company reports that more than 140 hardware businesses have used the platform. That is a company-reported adoption figure, not an independent assessment of customer outcomes.

Why this matters for Michigan founders

For a hardware founder, finding a supplier is only the start. A useful procurement process must also establish whether that supplier can meet the specification, deliver on time and accommodate the buyer’s payment needs.

HVN’s view: the most useful test of this model is whether it makes those decisions easier. A large supplier directory has limited value if a founder still has to repeat the same qualification work for every order.

What to watch

Questions worth asking as the business grows include how often buyers return, how supplier quality is checked, and where a person approves decisions made by an AI agent. Those measures would help distinguish a convenient introduction service from a durable part of a company’s operations.
