Acuity acquires Milwaukee’s Continuus as enterprise AI puts data expertise in focus

Sourced news brief · See the publication date above and original source below.

Milwaukee data consultancy Continuus has been acquired by Acuity Analytics in a transaction with undisclosed financial terms.

Acuity announced the acquisition on October 7, 2026, and said it completed on October 1. The deal adds 37 specialists serving financial institutions.

The capability behind the acquisition

Continuus works in data strategy, governance, engineering and cloud platforms, primarily for asset managers and other financial-services clients. Acuity says those capabilities strengthen its US presence and support customers moving AI into wider use.

Borgman Capital’s 2024 investment announcement documents Continuus’s Milwaukee base and its earlier growth-equity backing. This week’s news is the completed acquisition, not a new fundraising round.

Why the Wisconsin ecosystem should pay attention

HVN’s view: this transaction offers a useful case study for founders building specialist technology-services businesses. The buyer’s stated rationale centers on sector knowledge and the ability to implement systems for customers.

For an enterprise buyer, the quality of an AI application depends partly on the information it can use. Questions about data ownership, access and reliability can therefore become questions about whether a product is ready to deploy.

That creates an editorial opening beyond the deal price: what capabilities make a smaller specialist valuable to a larger technology-services organization?

What the announcement leaves open

The companies did not disclose a valuation or investor returns. Those omissions prevent a meaningful comparison with other exits on financial performance alone. Future reporting could examine how the team is integrated and how its customer work changes after the sale.
